Raised in Houston, Texas and Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Mary Martin graduated from Emory University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. At Emory she was a member of DVS, the Senior Society. She received her law degree from the University of Texas at Austin in May 1988.
Mary is active in the Houston Community serving on various boards. She served as an elected State Bar Director. She has served on the Houston Lawyer Referral Service Board and the Houston Bar Association Bench Bar Committee and Fee Dispute Committee. She has represented veterans in pro bono matters across the state.
Mary and her husband Rex are longtime members of Bellaire United Methodist Church. They have three daughters. Molly received her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University and a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Texas. She is the Volunteer Coordinator at Search Homeless Services. Kathleen received her degree in mechanical engineering from Abilene Christian University and is a wastewater consulting engineer with PM Onsite Wastewater Consulting. Lily is finishing her undergraduate degree at the University of Texas McCombs Business School and has accepted a job as an institutional asset management analyst.
